Children have fun in a nurturing, non-competitive learning environment. Our unique, farm-like setting includes a state-of-the-art gymnasium in which many of our activities will take place. Three two-week sessions are offered for ages 6 to 12 and include activities revolving around recreational sports, outdoor adventure, history, science, cooking, arts, crafts and music. Programs available for ages 2 to 6 include toddler & preschool programs, exploration of other countries and customs, nature discovery, games and other fun activities. Child-centered, hands-on approach. Before- and after-school care available.

Summer Toddler Preschool (Ages 2 and 3) 9:15-11:30, Monday-Friday
The Summer Toddler Preschool is designed as an introduction to the Montessori classroom or as a continuation for those children currently enrolled in the toddler program during the regular school year. The first day of the session we encourage one parent or caregiver to stay with the child. Once the children are engaged in the classroom activities, they are comfortable exploring the magic of Montessori on their own for the duration of the session. Children explore and experiment with the classroom materials while striving to improve motor skills, language abilities and socialization skills. They enjoy singing songs, listening to stories and doing arts and crafts. Note: Enrollment limited to 12 students per class.

Summer Montessori is an introduction for children who are new to the Montessori classroom or a continuation for children who are enrolled in our primary program during the regular school year. In the Montessori classroom, children move about and choose materials from easily accessible shelves. One child might paint, as another places beads into groups of ten to perform a math function and a third child prepares a snack, while the teacher works with a small group forming words using sandpaper letters. Children also enjoy singing, storytelling and outdoor play. CHILDREN MUST BE FULLY TOILET-TRAINED. (NO PULL-UPS)
Music/Recorder Playing & Indoor Sports (Ages 3 to 5) 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
This program is sure to bring out the little Mozart in your child! The children will make a variety of instruments including drums, shakers, rain sticks, paper guitars and tambourines. They will also begin to learn how to play the recorder (song flute) that is theirs to keep and take home with them at the end of the session. Listening, singing and rhythm concepts will be our focus as we have fun exploring music. For those students who played the recorder in last year's session, we'll learn some new notes and new songs this summer! Exploring Art, Nature & Earthworks (Ages 6 to 8 & 9 to 12) 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
Everyone loves learning about art and nature! Learning about
shape, line, symmetry, and balance through the work of Frank Lloyd Wright are
just a few of the topics students will review.Imagine how much fun it will be to learn how to create stained glass
windows.Harmonize with the environment
and the geometry found in nature by using it in architecture.Your architectural skills will shine when you
design/ build architectural models.For
Earthworks, students will explore plants from the inside out by looking at
plant cells, roots, leaves, flowers and berries. They will then create a
miniature garden and learn horticultural skills. The bountiful rewards of
plants will then be deliciously sampled by using herbs and other plant products
to cook up some delectable dishes in the kitchen.
Puppets, Plays and Marionettes (Ages 6 to 8 & 9 to 12) 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
Have you ever made your own puppet at home or wanted to learn how? Children will experiment with many different puppet making techniques. They will learn how to make finger puppets, and marionettes and conduct shows for the characters that they make. Students will learn the basic skills in sewing, sculpting and molding that will help to create their characters. The goal of this session is to have lots of fun and to be able to explore your creative side.
Journey for little Authors (Ages 3 to 5) 1-4 p.m., Monday-Friday
Remember the first books you had when you were a child?In this creative session, the little ones
have the opportunity to actually make their own storybook!Children will create their own character, tell
a story and draw pictures for their book.With the help of the teachers, they will then put together a wonderful
little keepsake of their story, making their own book.Each story created by your child will be
unique and original and a treasure your child will have forever.
Imaginarium: Creative Design, Soccer, Lacrosse & Drumming (Ages 6 to 8 & 9 to 12)
1-4 p.m., Monday-Friday
Amazing things can happen when you use your imagination!
Your mind is more powerful than you may think when it comes to exploring the
world around you. From sandcastles to tree houses, children will have the
opportunity to make a variety of exciting projects. In drumming, students will make a drum as they learn about
patterns, color, and how to utilize recycled materials. They will then learn basic drumming techniques on the instruments they have made. Soccer and lacrosse
round out the program. The possibilities are endless!

How can we paint? Let us count the ways... marble painting, finger painting,
sponge painting, splatter painting, glitter paint, spin art, water colors, mini
rollers and stampers just to name a few! This session combines creativity with
physical activity as students head on down to the gym after a morning of art.
Lots of fun recreational activities that develop muscles and give a good
cardiovascular workout will round out the program. CHILDREN MUST BE FULLY

Native American Summer & Outdoor Adventure (Ages 6 to 8 & 9 to 12) 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
Bringing back an old favorite with a new twist, children
this summer will engulf themselves in the traditions of the Native
Americans.Students will participate in
the reading of Native American legends, as well as create their own!In addition, activities will include
traditional games, ceremonies, and building small totem poles to place around
the campus.Students will be practicing
and participating in Native American style gardening, harvesting, and eating!During the Outdoor Adventure, students will
learn how to read compasses and maps, how to pitch a tent and roll up a
sleeping bag, and (most importantly) how to make trail mix and s’mores!We will also take a look at plant and animal
identification and learn about trail tracking.Gear up for a day of fun in this session!
Beadworks I (Ages 6 to 8) 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
Projects in Beadworks I will include everything from jewelry making
to decorative beading art! Students will make “wearable art” including
necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Decorative art projects may include making a
candle holder, decorative picture frames or mobiles using beads. Macrame and
bead weaving will also be explored. Each student in Beadworks I will
receive a bead-making kit which includes a jewelry design board, plastic bead
storage case and carrying bag. The bead-making kit is theirs to take home, so
they can continue making lovely, unique jewelry on their own!

Beadworks II (Ages 9 to 12) 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
Students will make beautiful necklaces, bracelets and earrings using
advanced jewelry-making techniques. We will learn about color combinations and
bead texture combinations in the design process. Macrame and bead weaving will
also be explored. Each student in Beadworks II will receive a
bead-making kit which includes four jewelry making tools (a cutter, round, flat
and needle-nosed-pliers), a jewelry design board, plastic bead storage case and
carrying bag. The bead-making kit is theirs to take home, so they can continue
making lovely, unique jewelry on their own!

Journey Through the Life Cycle (Ages 3 to 5)1-4 p.m., Monday-Friday
How does a tadpole become a frog? How does a caterpillar
become a butterfly? How long does it take for a bird’s egg to hatch?In this thrilling summer adventure, learn
about frogs, birds, worms, ladybugs and many more! This program is a cool way
to make new friends and have a great time this summer.

From roller coasters to abstract sculpture, students will
have the freedom to work with all kinds of materials as they develop their
creative ideas. Through the use of art and design, they will be free to explore
and create anything that can be imagined. Multi-media art involves a variety of
projects such as painting, collages and drawing. Students will work with the
fundamentals of design which will enable them to explore all types of art.
Badminton and volleyball round out the program.

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! In the morning session your
child will explore all there is to know about wildlife and the animals around
them.This program provides a lovely
morning for little ones as they split their time in zoology and indoor
sports.During the sports portion they
will participate in many fun activities that will help to develop gross motor
skills and eye-hand coordination.Both

Artist's Workshop & Outdoor Adventuring (Ages 6 to 8 & 9 to 12)9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
Find the little artist in your child when you sign up for
this workshop.You will be amazed by
what you will discover.Children will
enjoy learning about the bounty of gardens and the beautiful environments of Baltimore
County.They will practice the styles of pointillism,
still-life, and landscape.There will be
a focus on the technique of shading and vantage points in art, which is sure to
enrich the child’s creativity.During
the Outdoor Adventure, students will learn how to read compasses and maps, how

Music & Art Rock! Dulcimer Mania (Ages 8 to 12) 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday
Students will make and paint their very own dulcimer the first week of the
session! The second week they will learn strumming and picking techniques,
simple note reading for the dulcimer and end the session performing songs. This
folk instrument workshop is a great introduction to string instruments, and a
fun and easy way to learn how to play music.Kit fee: $35.00.Includes dulcimer materials, strings, pick
and music instruction booklet.
Journey Through Art (Ages 3 to 5) 1-4 p.m., Monday-Friday
This colorful journey will be a lovely afternoon for little ones! Children
will enjoy learning about artistic masterpieces and create some of their
own.Aboriginal art will be highlighted
as students make projects such as parasols and fans. A little picture taking will round out the session. Each creative afternoon is sure to be picture

Children will develop their creative skills through the
imaginative use of literature and art. They will look at the works of Salvador
Dali, Henri Matisse and other artists as they create their own works of art.
During woodworking, students will be working with a variety of tools and
materials to create some great projects. Hockey and basketball round out the
program.
