Art Show Held to Benefit Kids Are Heroes

Beautiful artwork by every student at our school was on display April 20 and 21 in a grand Art Show!  Over $1,000 was raised during the event and donated to Kids Are Heroes, a Maryland-based non-profit organization that inspires and helps children to become leaders through volunteerism and community involvement.  Kids Are Heroes founder, twelve-year-old MaryMargaret O’Neill, and her dad, Gabe, were on hand to share information with visitors about Kids Are Heroes.

During the event families also had the opportunity to meet our new Head of School, Tamara Sheesley Balis.  Ms. Balis enjoyed meeting students and parents during her brief visit to the school.  She will officially begin her position as of July 1, when she and her family relocate to Maryland from Massachusetts where she is currently the Head of Amherst Montessori School.
