Americas Day!
Lower and upper elementary students at The Montessori School showcased their combined studies of North and South America on Friday, March 9. Working in small mixed age groups, the projects were the culmination of weeks of learning about the history, culture, geography, customs and other interesting features of the Americas. Presentations included native dress, foods, artifacts, as well as student-prepared models of living quarters, animals, plant life and more.
Typical of the Montessori model of education, the older children in the upper elementary classes, were the leaders for each of these groups which included children from grades 1-6.
